AROUND GREECE IN 13 DAYS (A GREAT TASTE OF GREECE)
DAY 1: ATHENS
You are in the oldest city in Europe. After we transfer you to your hotel you have free time to take your first taste in Greece. You can have a walk, you can take a snack or a drink or a coffee or just relax so to be ready for the most coprehensive round of Greece. Overnight Athens
DAY 2: ATHENS-EPIDAURUS-MYCENAE-NAFPLIO
Starting from Athens and after a stop at the Corinth Canal, where we will admire this construction dream, joining the big island of Peloponnese with the rest of Greece, we will arrive at the beginning of our tour to admire the “Rich Mycenae,” the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, first sung by Omiros in his epics, is the most important and richest palatial center of the Late Bronze Age in Greece. Then we head to one of the major clinics in ancient Greece, where cured many serious diseases of the time, Epidaurus. There lies one of the most important and well-preserved theater of antiquity, the ancient theater of Epidaurus. After our tour in the archaeological site, we will drive to Nafplio. Nafplio is one of the most beautiful cities of modern Greece since it has managed to retain its color. Overnight Nafplion.
DAY 3: NAFPLIO-MYSTRAS-KALAMATA
Our second day will find us in one of the most important points of the Byzantine era and one of the most beautiful castles in the world, Mystras. The space, the natural fortress and strategic hill Byzantine Myzithras north Taygetos, consists of a medieval castle and fortified village, closed inside the walls of monasteries, churches, chapels, houses and palaces, in a straight path from mid 13th century until 1953. Then we’ll get to Kalamata, one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities in the Peloponnese, where you will have time to swim in the sea or have a walk around the city. Overnight Kalamata.
DAY 4: KALAMATA-ANCIENT OLYMPIA-NAFPAKTOS
We visit, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, ancient Olympia, where we will visit the museum, showing the long history of the most celebrated sanctuary of antiquity, which was dedicated to the father of gods and men, Zeus, and was the birthplace of the Olympic Games, and the archaeological site to admire the Temple of Zeus, with temples and buildings related to the cult, and various buildings that had been built around it, such as sports facilities used for the preparation and the Olympic Games, auxiliary buildings, utilitarian and administrative and secular buildings. Leaving behind Ancient Olympia and along the region of Peloponnese we will arrive at Nafpaktos, a graphical city, where we will have time to rest and walk around. Overnight Nafpaktos.
DAY 5: NAFPAKTOS-LEFKADA
Greece without island is half. For this reason will be transported by road and without boat, at Lefkada, one of the most beautiful islands and representative sample of the Ionian Sea. The island impresses with its beautiful and clean beaches, the lush environment and hospitable people. You will have time to discover all of them. Overnight Lefkada.
DAY 6: LEFKADA
Another day in Lefkada is essential, both to rest and to enjoy the sea, or discover some more hidden parts of this beautiful island. The day is free for anything you want to do. Overnight Lefkada.
DAY 7: LEFKADA-IOANNINA
Leaving behind Lefkadawe are heading to one of the most beautiful cities in Greece, Ioannina, the capital and largest city of the region Epirus. There you will have time to browse through the narrow streets, to visit the castle or one of the museums like the archaeological and taste traditional syrupy sweets, which leave no one unmoved. Overnight Ioannina.
DAY 8: IOANNINA-ZAGOROCHORIA-IOANNINA
Greece may be famous for its wonderful islands, but the current day will show you how also mountainous Greece is enchanting, like a fairytale. A prime example of this is the Zagoria, place of legends and traditions. There we will visit some of the larger villages such as Aristi and Papigo. We could not forget the Vikos Gorge, a magnificent location with great ecological value. Vikos Gorge is located in the Guinness book as the gorge with the smallest opening, only 1100 meters at its narrowest point and at the same depth of over 900 meters. Overnight Ioannina.
DAY 9: IOANNINA-METEORA-THESSALONIKI
Our present day finds us at a monument with a deep religious value and unparalleled natural beauty, Meteora. Meteora is, after Mount Athos, the largest and continuous presence since the establishment of the first monastic ascetics date set in Greece. From the historical evidence suggests that the monasteries of Meteora were thirty in total. Of these thirty only six are in operation today. Apart from its religious value, Meteora have also great natural value. The imposing rocks, whose height reaches sometimes 400 m., are a unique geological phenomenon. They cover an area of about thirty kilometers. After Meteora will reach the second largest city of Greece, the beautiful Thessaloniki. Once settled in our hotel will go for a quick tour of the city and the most important points. Overnight Thessaloniki.
DAY 10: THESSALONIKI-VERGINA-VOLOS
Today we will visit one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece, Vergina. The archaeological site of Vergina is protected by UNESCO as a monument of World Cultural Heritage and outstanding natural beauty. The archaeological site of Vergina, consists of the Polycentric Museum, the palace, the city, the citadel and the surrounding area. The museum contains archaeological finds of particular beauty. After Vergina we will go to Volos, famous for the tsipouro and the mezes. Overnight Volos.
DAY 11: VOLOS-DELPHI-ARACHOVA-ATHENS
Leaving behind Volos we arrive at Delphi, the city with the most important oracle of the ancient world. Delphi was the navel of the earth, where, according to legend, met the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world, and for many centuries the cultural and religious center and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world. In this room maintained very well with respect to the passage of time, we will discover and see all the important discoveries along with the stories that accompany them. We will be transferred to one of the most picturesque and traditional villages of Greece, Arachova. There we can relax enjoying our coffee and local food and sweets. DAY 12: ATHENS
