DAY 1: ARRIVAL – ATHENS – CORINTH CANAL – TRIPOLIS
Starting from Athens we welcome you to the international airport of Athens. We pick you up and heading towards our adventure. After a stop at Corinth canal where we will admire this construction dream, that connects the big island of Peloponnese with mainland Greece, we arrive at a small, non-touristic town of Greece, Tripolis, where you will have time to rest and discover the beauties of the city. DAY 2: BEE HIVES SEMINAR – KAPSIA CAVES
Einstein once said that if the bees disappear, mankind has four years of life. We therefore offer you the opportunity to see and feel how it works and lives this very useful insect. After picking you up from your hotel, we will move to a bee hive. A mini seminar will be held by experienced beekeeper for how the bee acts and after we wear the special uniforms will go to see a bee hive close and fully understand their society. After this we will take you to Kapsia caves, one of the best caves in Greece where you will admire the stalagmites and stalactites made millions of years ago. Overnight in Tripolis.
DAY 3: EPIDAURUS – OLIVE OIL MILL – OUZO DESTILLERY – NAFPLIO
The day starts in the morning, picking you up from your hotel and head to one of the most beautiful and well preserved ancient theaters and one of the major clinics in ancient Greece, where cured many serious diseases, Epidaurus. After that we head to an olive field in Argolis. The visit starts with a small video presentation about the olive tree and its history. We then go to the modern crushing factory of the olive fruit, with two lines, showing the stages of production of organic olive oil. Finally we visit the standardization unit where they present us the process of bottling products. At the end of our visit local treats are waiting for us, made with extra virgin olive oil. If season allows it (November, December, January, February) we can participate on the harvest process. After olive oil tasting we go for ouzo tasting and to an ouzo distillery where we will learn the process to make the most famous alcoholic drink for summer time in Greece. After our tour we will drive to Nafplio. Nafplio is one of the most beautiful cities of modern Greece since it has managed to retain its color. Time for rest, food, drinks and walking through the narrow streets of Nafplio. Overnight in Tripolis.
DAY 4: WINERY – SWIMMING DAY
Today your day will be dedicating to Greek sun and sea. We first go to a modern winery, where we present the process needed in order for the grapes to become wine, and big barrels left to carry out the fermentation that will give unsurpassed flavor. Then we will try the varieties of wine produced in the region. After that we transfer you to the beach where you will have free time to swim and sunbathe. Overnight in Tripolis.
DAY 5: HIKING IN LOUSIOS GORGE OR ANCIENT MESSINI VISIT
Today we can enjoy nature in its best shape. The day includes hiking along the banks of Lucios river where you will enjoy the tranquility of nature and will visit the monastery of Saint Prodromos and Philosofos Monastery literally perched on the mountain. Alternatively if you do not feel like walking we can take you to an archaeological site, less known to mass tourism but really beautiful and well preserved, ancient Messini. Messini is one of the most important in size, shape and state of preservation archaeological site, which still has a lot to offer. Not only has sanctuaries and public buildings, but also imposing fortifications and houses and tombs. It has, among other things, the rare privilege not been destroyed or covered by modern settlements and is an eminently Mediterranean intact natural environment. About 500 meters. from the center of Mauromati village, west of the provincial road leading from it to the Arcadian Gate is the local Archaeological Museum, where it will be and our first acquaintance with the ancient civilization of Messina. After the tour of the museum will wander to the archaeological site, where you can travel back in time, in this well-preserved village. Overnight in Tripolis.
DAY 6: FOOD MARKET SHOPPING – INTERACTIVE COOKING LESSON
Today you will use all the things you learned from the tours to make a tasty meal for you. We first go to the market place, where you will have the chance to buy grocery from local farmers only. After that we will head to a traditional cottage house of a local family. There we will cook a traditional food and a traditional sweet, using the ingredients we learned about, olive oil, honey, wine, tsipuro and with the grocery we bought. Do not imagine that you will only seat and watch. You will participate to the whole procedure with your own hands and imagination. After making our meal we will seat and enjoy the food, the drinks and the music. Overnight in Tripolis.
DAY 7: DEPARTURE
We transfer you to Athens. If you have time it is a chance for you to see the most ancient city in the world. Full of experiences and emotions will return to your base or continue your holidays. We hope to see you again with us on a journey of experiences!!
